Why I Open My Treatment Photos for Anyone to See #Replantation #ToothSaving #DrChoiYonghoon

Dr. Choi explains why his treatment photos are kept on an iPad at the clinic instead of being posted publicly online, and how he uses them to show tooth-saving replantation cases.

“Wondering if teeth can really be saved? Just come and see it all.” A dentist beside a desk with computers, a tablet and a camera.

If you have visited our clinic, this will be a familiar scene.

The same goes for first-time visitors.

Likewise, even after treatment is over, I always invite patients and their guardians to come and take a look.

The iPad on the treatment room desk is one I used mainly back when I was giving a lot of lectures.

Now, every photo I take is collected on Google Cloud.

I use two cameras in the treatment room, and every photo taken with either of them

is set to collect on this iPad.

So, today's post isn't really about the iPad itself.

Many people find the treatment method I use completely unfamiliar,

and in particular, they've been told at every clinic they've visited that they need an implant.

So when I suggest we try to save the tooth, it's only natural to feel confused and find it hard to trust.

Honestly, that's not a comfortable situation for me, but it's understandable for patients to have doubts.

No matter how much you browse YouTube and blogs, you'll probably still be on the fence.

On YouTube and my blog, I post cases I think are helpful for you to see.

Beyond that, I photograph nearly 100% of the teeth I treat whenever possible,

and all of those photos are stored on this iPad.

Even when it comes to replantation, I don't prepare separate photos to show patients.

Instead, I find the most similar case from this photo collection on the spot and show it to you.

Since all of my treatment records are on this iPad,

I can't deceive the patients who visit our clinic, and I can't pick out and show only what I want to show.

I don't want to do that, either.

In fact, some patients spend a long time scrolling back and forth through the iPad screen.

Also, if you'd like, I'll take as many photos of your own teeth as you want.

No matter how much you dig through this iPad, you won't find a single implant photo.

Treatment photos from at least the past three years are all stored on it.

When I post on YouTube and my blog, I also pick out cases by looking through this iPad.

If the YouTube videos and blog posts aren't enough for you, you're welcome to come in without an appointment

and look through all of my treatment cases.

I'd love to put everything online so anyone can easily view it,

but there are people who would misuse my photo materials, so I can't do that. I hope you understand.

Saving teeth isn't a treatment that's all talk.

Having burned my bridges by refusing implants, I'm going all in on saving teeth that everyone else has given up on,

but no matter how much I explain it, it may not really sink in,

so please come and see for yourself.

The KakaoTalk booking channel is, as the name suggests, just there to help with appointments,

but many people ask in painstaking detail, "Can this be done? A famous clinic told me it couldn't, so why do you say it can?"

There are so many of these questions that my work is grinding to a halt.

If you want to know about your own condition, please join my YouTube membership and ask there,

and when you have time, come to the clinic and browse through the iPad.

I'm also posting this so you can sit down and read the book I wrote while you're here.

That's all.

In Korea, implants are the standard treatment.

Saving a tooth without root canal treatment is not an easy or simple procedure.

Also, once a tooth passes a certain point, it can no longer be saved.

Cases with multiple missing teeth or multiple loose teeth make my tooth-saving approach difficult.

I recommend thoroughly reviewing my blog and YouTube channel and checking whether your case applies.

What photos are used to explain replantation?

Instead of creating separate photos for patients, Dr. Choi says he finds the most similar case from his treatment photo collection on the spot and shows it. He also stated that he photographs nearly all of the teeth he treats whenever possible and saves them in this collection.

Can I have photos of my own teeth taken?

Yes, the clinic offers to photograph your own teeth if you request it. Details such as the photography method or cost are not included in the article, so it's a good idea to check before your visit.
